Teamster lease deemed void, $2.3M judgment overturned

SPRINGFIELD — The Illinois Supreme Court overturned a $2.3 million broken-lease judgment against a union, finding the deal was void from the start for not following state laws regulating unincorporated associations.In May 2008, Teamsters Local 726 entered a rent-to-own agreement with 1550 MP Road LLC, the owners of a Des Plaines office building.
