‘Consent’ to get defined if bill passes

SPRINGFIELD — Illinois lawmakers are working to provide a clearer and comprehensive definition of “consent” for use in public school sex-ed classes.House Bill 3550, sponsored by Democratic Rep. Ann Marie Williams of Chicago, would amend the state’s sex-education curriculum for grades six to 12 by including “an age appropriate discussion” on what the clear and comprehensive definition of consent is.“We cannot wait until students go to college or into the workplace to have a discussion about what it means to consent to …
