Adria East Mossing

Adria East Mossing is a founding partner in the law firm of Mossing & Navarre LLC. Adria founded the plaintiff’s personal injury law firm along with her partner, Jim Navarre, in 2011. Adria represents injured parties and their families in cases involving medical malpractice, birth injuries, nursing home negligence, motor vehicle accidents and other cases involving catastrophic injuries and wrongful death. Adria has tried and settled numerous multimillion-dollar personal injury and medical malpractice cases in Chicago and throughout the State of Illinois.

Adria began her legal career at Hinshaw & Culbertson LLC in Chicago, quickly rising from associate to equity partner. At Hinshaw, she represented hospitals, doctors and other professionals. Adria then switched sides and joined a plaintiff’s personal injury firm before opening her own firm. Adria’s prior experience as a defense attorney has proved invaluable as she advocates on behalf of individuals and families who have suffered devastating injuries or the loss of a loved one. She can identify when records are missing from the medical chart or when records have been altered. Adria is very familiar with defense litigation and settlement strategy, which allows her to utilize superior tactics to the benefit of her clients.

Adria is a graduate of Northwestern University and DePaul University College of Law, where she served as Managing Editor of Notes and Comments for the DePaul Law Review. Adria is a member of the DePaul Alumni Engagement Board. In 2018, Adria was honored to receive DePaul College of Law’s Distinguished Alumna Award, the highest distinction the College of Law bestows. She has been recognized as a Leading Lawyer in Illinois in the area of medical malpractice and has been named one of the Top 10 Women Personal Injury Lawyers in Illinois by Leading Lawyers. For more than a decade, she has been selected by her peers as an Illinois Super Lawyer and she has been named a Top 100 Illinois Super Lawyer and one of the Top 50 Women Super Lawyers in Illinois. Adria is active in numerous bar organizations, including the Women’s Bar Association of Illinois, where she served on the board of directors for over a decade, culminating in her service as President of the WBAI for the 2016-2017 bar year. Adria serves as a mentor both to women in law school as well as recent law school graduates to help women navigate their critical first years in practice. She is a member of the Illinois State and Chicago Bar Associations, the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association and the American Board of Trial Advocates. Adria has been an active speaker and lecturer, and for more than two decades she has co-authored the “Pleadings” chapter for the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education’s “Illinois Civil Practice: Opening the Case” series. Adria and her husband, Matt, live in the western suburbs with their three children, Michael, Jack and Catherine.
