Anna Krolikowska is a family law attorney and mediator based in Northbrook. In 2021, Anna becomes president of the Illinois State Bar Association, the fifth woman to hold this elected position since the ISBA’s founding in 1877. One of the highlights of her successful statewide campaign was the fact that she was elected in a landslide victory against two other candidates and carried all 102 counties in Illinois. As ISBA president, Anna will focus on diversity, equity and inclusion issues, attorney life-work wellness initiatives and the establishment of the ISBA Business Institute that offers resources to help attorneys conduct their practices more effectively on a sound business basis.

Early in Anna’s career, she developed an affinity for working with couples seeking a divorce. As an experienced and skilled litigator, Anna knew that there could be more peaceful and productive ways to pursue a divorce. In response, she added mediation and collaborative divorce approaches to her skill set. These legal strategies help families work through the divorce process more smoothly and often result in better long-term outcomes tailored to the spouses, their goals and their children. In her practice, Anna leads clients through divorce with dignity. She is well known as a careful listener and a detailed strategist. She brings her creativity, compassion and skills she acquired as a divorce attorney and mediator to her leadership of the state’s bar association.

Anna has been involved in a wide variety of leadership positions in her rise through the ISBA. Anna served multiple terms on the Board of Governors and the ISBA Assembly. Anna also serves on the boards of the Illinois Bar Foundation and the ISBA Mutual Insurance Company. She is a fellow of the Illinois Bar Foundation.

Anna has also taken on leadership roles at the national and state levels with preeminent professional legal organizations, including The Advocates Society, Justinian Society of Lawyers, Northwest Suburban Bar Association, Women’s Bar Association of Illinois, DuPage County Bar Association, Lake County Bar Association, American Bar Association and the North Suburban Bar Association, where she served as president. She is very active in the National Conference of Bar Presidents, where she serves on the Membership Committee. She is also an active member of Collaborative Divorce Illinois and the International Academy of Collaborative Practitioners.

Over the years, her professional peers have recognized and supported Anna by nominating her for many professional awards and acknowledgements. In 2019 the Daily Law Bulletin named Anna one of 40 Attorneys Under 40 to Watch. She was selected as an Emerging Lawyer from 2015-2020. Since 2019 Anna has been selected as an Illinois Super Lawyer in Family Law, the highest designation bestowed on fewer than 5 percent of the practicing attorneys in Illinois. The Chicago Volunteer Legal Services Foundation conferred its Distinguished Service Award to Anna for her volunteer work.
