A Will County judge erred by letting Egyptian courts dictate an Illinois divorce case, a state appeals panel ruled last week.The 3rd District Appellate Court, based in Ottawa, found the Will County Circuit Court should not have dismissed dissolution proceedings between a couple just because their split had been approved in an Egyptian court.The panel ruled comity — the legal notion of deference to another nation’s laws for duty or convenience — should not have been given to the divorce decree.Hany Sayed …
