Five bills to help first responders’ mental health become state law

SPRINGFIELD — Gov. J.B. Pritzker signed a package of legislation aimed at improving the lives of first responders.The five measures, signed Friday at Illinois State Police headquarters in Springfield, push to better the mental health of first responders, help the family’s of fallen officers and ensure the Illinois State Police are operating effectively.“The measures I signed today build on the work we’ve done this year to better serve those who work in public safety,” Pritzker said at the …
