Cooney of Cooney & Conway was at a Chicago hotel in September 2002 celebrating the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association’s 50th anniversary when he noticed Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watts go into a private room.The Stones were in town for a concert and Cooney could not let an opportunity like that go by, according to his childhood friend, Philip H.
