A manufacturing company did not cause an independent contractor to get into a car accident that killed one person and injured several others, a state appellate panel held.A panel of the 3rd District Appellate Court ruled that Walterscheid Powertrain Group, formerly known as GKN, did not exert control over the contractor’s manner of driving while he commuted to its facility.
