Hispanic judge elevated to 1st District Appellate Court

Cook County Circuit Court Judge David R. Navarro has been assigned to the 1st District Appellate Court effective Feb. 6, the Illinois Supreme Court announced Tuesday.The move comes amid rumblings of discontent from some in the Hispanic legal community about the lack of Latinx representation in the appellate court and Illinois Supreme Court.
