Former state court administrator Tardy dies

Michael J. Tardy, the former director of the Administrative Office of Illinois Courts known for his “genteel” nature and steady hand during a tough financial period, died Wednesday at age 68.An Illinois Supreme Court spokesman said Friday Tardy battled health issues for a while.He served for nearly four decades in the state’s judicial branch and led the AOIC as executive director from 2011 through summer 2017.Among other things, he oversaw an expansion of electronic filing and a push toward problem …
