Second Amendment rights argued in FOID case at high court

SPRINGFIELD — The state’s top court heard oral arguments Tuesday to decide whether the Illinois Firearm Owners’ Identification Card law — also known as the FOID card law — is unconstitutional.The FOID Card Act, 430 ILCS 65/2(a)(1), says no one can have a firearm in the state without having a FOID card previously issued by the state police.
