ARDC panel urges reinstatement for disbarred attorney

An attorney, who was disbarred for submitting a fraudulent loan application, should have his law license reinstated after showing good character and acceptance of responsibility.An Attorney Registration & Disciplinary Commission Hearing Board recommended that Rory Dean Smith of Chicago be allowed to practice law again after he was disbarred on consent in 2013.“We believe he will be able to return to practice without harm to the public and has much to contribute to the legal profession,” the hearing board …
