Pritzker pulls agencies from Title X program over ‘gag rule’

SPRINGFIELD — Gov. J.B. Pritzker announced last week that Illinois agencies will drop out of the federal Title X program instead of changing policies to comply with Donald Trump’s executive order over Title X funding.The order from the White House earlier this month blocks the federal government from funding any agency that offers contraceptive services for low-income women if that agency offers abortions or makes referrals for abortion services.Title X provides preventive health services, including HIV …
