Bid to redraw Cook subcircuits picks up steam at state capitol

SPRINGFIELD — The Cook County Circuit Court’s subcircuits haven’t been redrawn in nearly 30 years, but lawmakers are looking to change that and require them to be redrawn every 10 years similar to state legislative districts.House Bill 2625 calls for the General Assembly to redraw Cook County’s subcircuit boundaries in 2021 to reflect the results of the 2020 federal decennial census.
