Condo board fight ends in $1M sanction

A Cook County judge ordered a man and his attorney to pay more than $1 million in sanctions to residents of a condominium complex after engaging “in a pattern of abuse, committed for an improper purpose to harass, delay and increase the cost of litigation.”The lawsuits began in October 2015 when Marshall Spiegel, a member of the 1618 Sheridan Road Condominium Association, filed a lawsuit against fellow board member Valerie Hall contending she should not be allowed to participate in a meeting because she did not own a unit …
