Sports betting proposals ready to make legislative appearance

SPRINGFIELD — Less than a year after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in favor of sports betting, Rep. Michael J. Zalewski filed four different versions of a measure that would legalize and regulate wagering on athletic contests in Illinois.The Riverside Democrat will bring the proposals to the House Revenue and Finance Committee Thursday morning.
