Family gets $21.5M after boy drowns

Cook County jurors awarded $21.5 million to the family of a boy who drowned at a park district pool while at a summer camp field trip.The award is higher than any previously reported drowning Illinois verdict or settlement, according to the Jury Verdict Reporter, a product of Law Bulletin Media.Jurors reached their verdict late Tuesday after a monthlong trial before Circuit Judge Marguerite A.
