A look at our inaugural class

Inside our special edition of Chicago Lawyer are profiles of 50 exceptional women leaders in the law who have been named as the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin & Chicago Lawyer’s inaugural Salute! Women in Law Award honorees.

Earlier this year we put the call out for nominations of women lawyers who are leading the way. We received more than 500 nominations and selecting 50 honorees was not an easy job. There are so many incredible women in the Chicago legal profession. The honorees were screened by our Women’s Advisory Panel and then chosen by our CDLB & CL selection committee.

As you know, our plan was to host a reception and awards ceremony to celebrate all of our honorees in April but because of the pandemic, we shifted the celebration to a virtual awards announcement in May to hopefully be followed by a celebration later in the year. As the weeks passed we had hoped things would be back to normal for our third annual Women in Law Conference in December and we would be able to host the awards over lunch. Since that wasn’t going to be possible, we decided to recognize these women in this special commemorative edition. Hopefully next year, we’ll all be able to raise a glass together and celebrate in person.
