Illinois Supreme Court suspends Ohio attorney after fraud conviction

An Ohio-based attorney, licensed in Illinois, was suspended by the Illinois Supreme Court this week following his criminal conviction in a fraudulent investment scheme.Steven C. Scudder, a sole practitioner in Centerville, Ohio, has also been suspended by the Ohio Supreme Court.The Attorney Registration & Disciplinary Commission filed a complaint against Scudder, 64, last month, but the Illinois Supreme Court can take disciplinary action against an attorney while ARDC proceedings are pending.Supreme Court Rule 761 …
