10 Cook County suburbs pursue opioid litigation

Ten Cook County municipalities and one Tazewell County city are pursuing their own joint lawsuit against opioid manufacturers and distributors in Cook County Circuit Court.In the suit filed today, the municipalities are hoping to keep their action separate from the national multidistrict litigation that is ongoing in Ohio.The consolidated lawsuits filed by municipalities such as the city of Chicago became part of the multidistrict litigation in the Northern District of Ohio based in Cleveland in September 2017.To that end, …
